(Sweden; 13. June 2007) Husqvarna AB has made a deal with Svenska Datagruppen AB in Sweden to develop and install a new quality system. The Software Husqvarna has bought is developed by Symfoni Software AS in Norway. Svenska Datagruppen is one of Symfoni’s partners, and sells Symfoni products in the Swedish market. Husqvarna bought the product Symfoni QMS to better administrate the companies quality and environmental documentation in a rational way.

Due to additional tasks and expansion internationally, higher standards on the internal tools are required in order to be used on a global basis. Increasing globalisation will make work tasks more complex, and focus on simplifying structures and processes hence become important in order to not complicate it for the users. The key is simple and easy to follow processes with complex tasks in stead of the opposite, which in some instances seem to be the case. Symfoni QMS is by Husqvarna regarded as a useful tool in the process of managing quality and the environmental work.

We chose Symfoni QMS based on many factors. The most important were the overview it would give, and; it is easy to use. Another important reason is that Husqvarna mainly use the Lotus Notes platform for a number of their applications, which makes Symfoni QMS a “perfect fit” in their infrastructure, according to the Manager of Quality and Product Safety, Runo Malkolmsson.
